| We welcome all VFW members and friends to join us Sunday, August 5, to recognize one of our members for his extraordinary service to this Post over the past 1 1/2 years. We will celebrate Ken Olson Day with a pot luck-style BBQ from 4 - 7 pm with entertainment by one of our favorite musicians, Al Jones, from 5 - 9 pm.
We cannot thank Ken enough for all his hard work and dedication as he spearheaded efforts to save our Post from catastrophe as we struggled with a failing septic system that required frequent and costly pump outs. Ken spent countless hours working with a myriad of state and county officials, contractors, engineers, inspectors and, at the same time, kept Post officers and members informed of his progress. We will spend Sunday thanking Ken for his amazing behind-the-scenes effort and commitment that resulted in the successful repairs to our septic system.
I would be remiss if I didn’t also thank all of our members who donated cash to help pay for the $32,000 renovation. Please join me in saluting Ken and thanking all members and friends who helped with the completion of this project.
